HOW TO: Upgrade to Anthology from ALL Adagio

Customers that own all 4 of the new (2.0) Adagio Volumes can now upgrade to Anthology for FREE giving you access to the useful ensemble based patches included in Anthology.

As Anthology uses the same sample content as Adagio, if you have all four Adagio volumes installed, you can install Anthology without re-downloading all the sample content.

***You Do Not Need To Re-Download The Entire Library***

How to update without re-downloading sample content

  • Add Anthology to your cart and checkout with your personalised voucher found in your e-mail or get in touch with support for your new serial

  • Navigate to https://8dio.net/manuallink

  • Enter your email and new serial and click “Get Links”

  • Navigate to the bottom of the page and download the last .rar file. This will not have “part” in the name (e.g 8Dio Anthology V1_3_123456.rar or similar).

  • Download the Resources Folder from the following link (Download Here)

  • If you don’t already have an un-archiving utility, download The Unarchiver (OSX) or 7-zip (Win). Links for these can be found below or at the bottom of the Manual Link page.

The Unarchiver (Mac OSX)

7-Zip (Windows)

  • Unarchive the .rar files by opening it with your selected unarchiver utility.
  • Move the new resources folder to your Anthology 1.3 folder, replacing the contained resources folder.
  • Now that you have your correct Anthology folder, you need to direct kontakt to the sample content for the library. To do this open kontakt, click the save icon and select “Batch Re-save”.
  • Navigate to your new Anthology folder and select the instruments folder.
  • After kontakt has checked for missing samples, ensure “Keep seach mode and selected folder for the current session” is highlighted, then select “browse for folder”. Select the folder containing your four Adagio volumes and grab a coffee while kontakt does it’s thing.

Congratulations you have now updated your library.

    Just to clarify…
If we have downloaded the Adagio 2 libraries, then the abovementioned process is all we need to do to instigate the Anthology 13 library.
If I have not downloaded the Adagio 2 libraries, but have the previous Anthology version with its patches, will this yield the same result?
To follow this line of enquiry, if I download the whole Anthology 13 library, do I need to download the Adagio 2 libraries?
I don’t have much room on my hard drives and our internet connection can be really slow (max. 1.2Mb per second in good times) so I’m trying to rationalise and economise what I do here.

      Hi ElRobboz,

You either need to download all the adagio volumes and follow the steps above

OR re-download Anthology 1.3 – If you do this you don’t need to keep/install the Adagio Volumes as Anthology contains all the content included in the Adagio volumes

If you have any further questions, please get in touch with us at support@8dio.com.

Thank you for clarifying that for me. :o)

I have a similar question, or at least a similar problem (drive space is precious). So, if I have followed the instructions on this page, downloaded the new Anthology Strings 1_3 folder and replaced the Resources folder, and batch re-saved everything in Kontakt to point to the new Adagio libraries — can I now safely DELETE the old Anthology folder (and all its resources, instruments and, especially, samples)? Thanks for any help.

    • 8Dio Productions

      Hi synergistmedia,

Yes you can erase the library unless you have any older projects that need the legacy version

  • Tim Burns

So if I follow these instructions (which I’m currently trying to do) I will still have my original “8Dio Anthology” folder, which contains folders for Samples, Resources, Instrument, and Documents. Then I will also now have a new folder named ‘8Dio Anthology Strings 1_3″ which contains folders for Resources, Instruments, and Documents. But no ‘samples’ folder…

That’s where I’m at now. And I’m not sure how that’s gonna work, since Kontakt will expect to find a ‘Samples’ folder in my new Anthology 1_3 folder, no?

    • ElRobboz

I think the idea is that you replace the original Resources folder with the new one (I would take the precaution of backing up the old folder, or re-naming it, first), so when you conduct the batch re-save it finds the samples that already exist in your Samples folder.
      🙂

        Hi Tim,

Yes ElRobboz is correct, you need to replace the resources folder and the batch re-save points kontakt to the samples folders from your Adagio Libraries.

Hello Dave, The download link for the updated resource folder is in the blog post. You should see a (Download Here) link that you can click on to download the missing resource folder.
