8Dio Aluphone is a featured Instrument from our Studio Percussion Series and uses our advanced technique called, Groove Sampling™ that allows you to create hyper-realistic percussive grooves with a single touch of a key. Groove Sampling is a proprietary method developed by 8Dio and is currently patent pending. There is no going back after this.
The Aluphone is an extremely versatile instrument that resembles the sound of a vibraphone and can be played with a variety of different mallets, each delivering a sonically different tamber. The Aluphone has a wide dynamic range depending on the mallets used, and when bowed, you can the Aluphone can resemble the sound of singing glass.
The 8Dio Aluphone contains 12 unique articulations and 3 microphone positions (Close, Mid & Far) all easy-accessed from our front-facing browser. The Caisa Drum was meticulously recorded with 6 different playing styles including two different mallets, brushes, bowed, and two different rolls. So imagine playing a unique Aluphone with brushes or sticks, the ability to choose which type of mallet widens the usability of the library.
The Aluphone is featured from our Studio Exotic Percussion library which contains 5 deep-sampled percussion instruments including the Aluphone, Caisa Drum, Tubaphone, Sixxeen, and the Scaffaphone. It has always been our mantra to push sampling forward in regard to realism and playability. The Studio Percussion Series is the first series to utilize our proprietary Groove Sampling™ technology and we really think it is going to make compositions richer and easier to create.
