Great product, uniquely sounding libraryAnthology is a fantastic collection of 8Dio's skills all for a single purpose: offer you the very best string ensemble experience ever. Especially if like me you're trying to stay away from those bombastic/epic string ensembles. We already had dozens of them. This is where Anthology stands out in my opinion. With only 29 musicians it fills my expectations and my goals too. Too many american companies focus on those ensemble strings, hire so many musicians while most european composers are looking for intimacy.

I have to admit I'm a huge fan of the divisi/chamber patches and samples as they do nail the job with those each and every time. This is for me the strongest feature of this library.

I got the Anthology upgrade for free as an existing Adagio and Agitato customer and am truly amazed by the level of generosity. This upgrade is worth every penny I would definitely have paid for if I had to!

My biggest regrets are 4 little remarks which won't be a problem to most of you.

    1) the not that slow loading times of the patches before they load into RAM even on the Mac compared to other libraries from the competition, and even compared to the previous libraries. If like me you don't use a Server or a 3rd party app to load your instances of Kontakt, get prepared for slower than normal loading each and every single time you drop a single patch. It could be a no-go for most of us but you'd truly miss on something. And oh well, 5-6 seconds extra wait is sometimes worth it.

    2) some things are missing from the Adagio and Agitato libraries: ostinatos, 2nd violin option (even though it's probably an "eq thing" it would have been awesome to have this option when loading violins for ex. It makes the overall result homogenic but oh well, I'll stick with the Ostinatos from my Agitato collection.

    3) A better documentation for existing Adagio and Agitato customers would have been nice, because moving from there to a totally new architecture isn't always a piece of cake, especially if you're not a nerd like me. Keep in mind that some of us have dozens of kontakt libs to deal with. So, I would have found it nice, even though I have to admit the new interface is extremely comprehensive.

    4) The solo legato transitions sound like doubled and while it's not much of a problem when writing for a quartet, it's not an option when using just a solo instrument either. They always have sounded like this, so you have to listen to them carefully. Today there are other options too. But seriously at this price how can one complain about it? Especially since 8dio has been the only company I know in years to deliver Solo Strings of this quality at half the price of its historic competitor (LASS).

That's it. It's an objective review of a fantastic product that I wish I could use every single day as it gives me so much in return of what I paid for.

Phenomenal library, that's well worth it's cost.I have to admit, I am thoroughly blown away by Anthology. The strings sound lush and vibrant, and ooze emotion and flavor. The interface works like a charm, and the level of control is perfect, allowing you to control what you need, but not making the interface to clumsy and difficult to use. This is by far my favorite string library to date, and I would highly recommend it as a bread-and-butter string library.

Works as promisedWow! What an amazing upgrade to the existing series! This is pretty much the bread and butter version of strings I have been looking for. Will Century Strings have a similar interface?

The Final AdagioWhile the original line of Adagio and Agitato strings suffered from patch-by-patch articulations and some glaring bugs, I'm happy to say that Anthology finally resolves all these issues by making the instrument imminently playable, balanced and very optimised.

SpeechlessI have played with these strings for a few days now. OVerall impression is really positive. The strings behave how I want them to and the layout is pretty smart. Its easy to find stuff and get started. I dont know if it completely replaces their Adagio and Agitato, but this is as they say an amazing Bread and Butter library

By far the best Strings library out there...!When it finally worked (missing samples from the first download) I loaded the patches, started to play and WOW! This is by far the best Strings library out there! They have really outdone themselves this time! I hope brass and wind are next (Anthology brass and wind).

I started playing with Anthology and I am generally astonished! The way you polished all sounds, I am so familiar with - sweet. The playability is great and the instrument response very well on different velocity levels (it will now safe many session hours since the expression of the instrument can be controlled using also fingers - mine are now bleeding, just can`t stop playing); legatos sound much more natural - transitions are very smooth; ARCs - poetry gingerly sipped with honey. Bravo!

The next stepThis is definitely the next logical step for the Adagio and Agitato Series. I started my "8Dio Journey" with Adagio and I was always very happy. They had their little problems but I like to think of those as a sort of character mark. With the Anthology Strings 8Dio seems to have managed to iron out all the bumps and release a product of perfection. I did use some other strings libraries in the past (Vienna Instruments, Spitfire,...) but in my opinion none accomplished to put as much feeling and emotion into their strings as 8Dio did. Thank you for this amazing product!

It just works, feels, and sounds like real strings. Incredible!I'll totally admit it. I am not the greatest orchestrator or symphonist in the world. But I have never tried anything that sounds and feel so real. It is so easy to use and sounds so, I dunno, musical! This is my favorite string library till date and I have a good deal of them. Thanks 8DIO!

This is pure MAGIC!I have worked with many different string sample libraries from the top companies out there. From Spitfire, East West, LASS and many more including the V8P libraries, but the samples here and how its been scripted together is just "jaw please meet the floor" good. When I loaded this beauty up for a first test drive I could not believe the authenticity I felt when playing. These string patches immediately inspired me in a whole new way. The movement in the legato and how it works is as smooth as silk and as I commented in the live stream on this library, the bow action sounds SOOO real. Non of the other libraries and patches I've worked with have, in my opinion, got a feel that is so authentic and best of all is that it all just works straight out of the box. This library very quickly allows you to create scores that sound so incredibly authentic and dynamic that you won't believe your ears! Thank you 8Dio for creating such amazing sample libraries that help all of us out there to realise our wildest musical creations and dreams.
