ENERGIZE THE STRINGS
The 8Dio Electric Solo Strings feature our newest Fusion Modeling techniques, giving you unprecedented control of the Electric Violin & Cello. These instruments are incredibly acrobatic, allowing you to play legato as fast as you want with total fluidity. Our new Fusion Modeling allows you to not only crossfade between vibrato types, but also use Physical Modeling techniques for complete control over vibrato.
We added out new Flow-Bow™ technology to all legato, allowing you to repeat notes with natural, lifelike variation. Just hold down the sustain pedal, play the same key, and a new repeated note will come to life! Combined with the velocity-layered legato speeds, ultra-fluid legato transitions, the option to play with any vibrato, or even using dynamic bowings or marcato, this is one of the most playable and versatile legatos you will ever experience.
The Electric Solo Strings contain a wealth of short notes, including Pizzicato, Spiccato, Saltando, Staccato, Bartok, Col Legno, etc. We included our new Bow-Bouncer, which allows you to quickly generate complicated short-note patterns with a single click on the keyboard. Also included are variations of Dynamic Bowings and Trills going all the way from Half-Notes to a Perfect Fourth. You also get Harmonics, Col Legno and assorted banks of Electric Violin & Cello Effects.
Speaking of effects, the Electric Solo Strings contain two different FX systems. First, to the left of the articulations matrix, you will find the Effects Mixer, containing all the effects and controls you might experience from a live electric string performance (distortion, phraser, screamer, chorus, rotator). Next, by clicking the “Effects” tab at the bottom of the interface, you will find our Chaos FX, a suite of nearly every effect you can think of.
The Electric Solo Strings contain a large section of small, naturally occurring artifact sounds that bring a lot of life into the sound. You can fully control the volume and frequency of these artifacts, but they help create a more realistic experience by adding small imperfections into your playing style. We could go on and on, but words are not enough to describe these instruments. Check our videos and demos for the full experience.

Legato with Fusion Modeling™
Electric Solo Strings contains over 18,800 samples and different types of layered legato with Fusion Modeling™. You can choose to play your with either Physically Modeled Vibrato or traditional deep-sampled vibrato crossfade. We also created a more dramatic Marcato Legato option for more aggressive playing styles, as well as Dynamic Bowings (Arc) Legato for expressive, emotive styles. All legatos include our new Flow-Bow™ technology, giving you the ability to play repeated notes by holding the sustain pedal down.
DUAL FX ENGINES
Electric String instruments are incredibly sensitive to effects input, so we created a custom FX system on the front of the UI, with controls for Chorus, Skreamer, Distortion, Rotator, and Phaser. These effects can make electric strings sound completely unique, from incredibly powerful to hauntingly delicate. But that’s not all! Our CHAOS FX allow you to do virtually anything you desire to the sound, including custom convolutions that explore all new realms of sound.
LEGATO CONTROLS
By clicking on the “Legato Options” tab on the right side of the UI, you will gain access to deep controls for the legato and other aspects of the sound. You can add a 2nd and or 3rd voice for a simulated ensemble sound, control the volume and amount of natural, human artifacts, control how you play chords, and the speed of legato. You can also leave “auto speed” enabled to control speed with velocity and whether the pitch bender controls pitch or vibrato.
