How To Orchestrate & Write with AGE

Looking at surface specs the idea of Acoustic Grand Ensembles (AGE) might seem a little more specialized or niche. Large Xylophone, Glockenspiel and Cimbalom ensembles?  Perhaps these are not at the top of every composers list.  That idea changes when you use them. In reality, AGE has become an absolutely  permanent fixture in my writing template.  It takes traditional things and makes them new and magical.  Powerful.  Unexpected. That is what AGE is for me.  I loved what I was hearing when we were recording, but I didn't really internalize how special these instruments are until I wrote this piece. Beyond specs, I hope this video will provide some insight into how this library might work in your own composition process. (Colin O'Malley).
