Supercluster – Recordings of the Universe overview

Imagine having all the ambient sounds from space at your fingertips.  Create music with the sounds of asteroids, moons, planets, suns and nebulas.  Be inspired by the musicality of cryo vulcans, background radiation, rocket engines and exo-planets.

Since the dawn of mankind, humans have looked up to the stars, wondered about the universe and everything it encompasses and most importantly, realizing how minimal we are in the timeline of existence.

As a tribute to mankind’s race to space exploration and everything it has signified for our technological growth, 8Dio has created Supercluster, a sound library of samples with a hint of sci-fi, space, and the universe.

Supercluster is the direct way to enter the universe – its various processes and maelstroms of matter and energy are captured in the sounds here. From the darkest, menacing and deadly collisions, warps and distortions to gorgeous nebulae, beautiful planets moving on their orbits, cryo volcanos and amazing constellations – all of them found their places in this exciting sonic journey. Let yourself be immersed in the life of the universe and feel instant inspiration for new cosmic music!

A Universe of Sounds at your fingertips

Supercluster organizes its range of sounds from the planetary to the infinitely massive in our familiar custom 3D browser. The intuitive user interface allows you to access the wealth of sounds immediately. All categorized core banks come pre-loaded in the internal browser so that you can try the ranges of sounds without any load-time.  The UI features some great front-facing effects, allowing you to combine as many banks as you want using our STACK function. REVERSE and RANDOMISE anything with a single click on the front-interface. After all, what’s cooler than space sounds? Space sounds in reverse! It’s all simple, easy and fast. So whether you need a sound like the wind on Mars or the engines of a spaceship – it’s right there at your fingertips.

The Laws of time are mine...

Control space-time with the ability to Stretch the sample. Manipulate their Attack, Release, Speed, Pitch Env, Glide and Offset. Stretch a sample over the entire keyboard with the Stretch feature and play your favorite sound in different registers. Use the front facing knobs to have complete control over the playback of the samples so they can properly fit your score. Supercluster is inspired by the exploration of space, so let exploring these sounds inspire you.

Infinite CHAOS

Supercluster features our newest Chaos FX system, which gives you an infinite resource of FX. Whether it’s creating a step-based filter sequence using our Filter rack, precision dial EQ, bit-crushing & distortion, stereo-delay or messing around with dual convolution reverbs. We also added our latest range of Impulse Responses, which allow you to create Textural Convolution Delays on top of the existing stereo-delay and convolution reverb.

Play the cosmos, play the universe, play Supercluster

Be inspired by the sounds of Supercluster to write something larger than life. Make music with a lone asteroid while the drone of a nebula flows behind. Write with the beautiful ambience emitted by the core of our galaxy, enhanced by the strange howling voices of our little moon. Counterpoint the roaring flares of red giants and the desolate hum of a white dwarf. Compose with the planets, Jupiter, Neptune, and Venus, hear them sing as you combine their eery atmospheres with the haunting harmonies of solar winds.Let the sounds of the universe guide and influence your music to create something remarkable.
