Featuring full ensembles, chamber (divisi) ensembles, and soloists, the Adagio & Agitato series is the definitive collection of emotional Violins, Violas, Cellos, and Basses. All soloists and ensembles were recorded with pristine Neumann microphones in a brilliant church. Combined with the players’ emotional investment, Adagio achieves a brilliant, live sound filled with humanity. The Adagio series includes all the articulations needed for modern orchestration, while the Agitato series includes a collection of advanced, custom legatos and sordino (muted) articulations.

Each instrument includes 3 sensible microphone positions, Close, Far, and Mixed, offering you complete control over the sound. We developed custom techniques for the close microphones, allowing for a much closer and more intimate sound than your common church. Despite the brilliance of the sound, nothing is drowned in reverb. Instead, every sound in this touching and passionate collection is overflowing with detail.

The Agitato expansion series addresses the most sought-after string articulations, focusing on advanced and grandiose legatos inspired by the soaring melodic styles of Williams and Mancini. We recorded dozens of legato varieties across ensemble and chamber/divisi Violins, Violas, and Cellos. These Grandiose Legato libraries bring you that fast, soaring, shimmering Hollywood Legato you’ve always wanted. 

Agitato Sordino includes 9 distinct types of Sordino Legato for Violins, Violas, Cellos and Basses. Along with these incredibly flexible section and full-ensemble legatos, Agitato Sordino also includes a collection of other Sordino articulations, offering you a full toolkit of muted strings for silky, emotional writing. 

Agitato Arpeggio features lightning fast legato, addressing a common pitfall for orchestral string libraries. Agitato Arpeggio is designed for very fast string passages, including arpeggios, ostinato figures, and hyper fast legato melodies. In addition to the legatos, Agitato Arpeggio also includes an ostinato builder for violins: allowing you to create your own figures based on 10 categories of patterns, all tempo-synced to your DAW.
