Homemade Misfits
Welcome to Misfit: an unusual collection of 18 deep-sampled instruments.
The 1 Stringed Diddley Bow (over 4,300 samples) was built from a wooden cigar box, a wooden stick, and one guitar string. The neck of a bottle was used for the slides to achieve a totally unique sound.
We recorded the 1 Stringed Diddley Bow at both slow and fast legato slide speeds, and with true vibrato in the legato. We call it True Gelato, baby!
Our idea was to approach the roots of modern music, a raw and gritty touch with an aroma of the authentic old-style blues.
