SEVEN BREATHTAKING SOLOISTS

The Solo Voices Series includes 7 beautiful solo vocalists, organized into 2 groups: the Advanced Studio Vocals and the Forgotten Voices. The Studio Vocalists feature conventionally playable libraires with a variety of advanced Flex Legatos, emotional arcs, multi-vowels, and more. The Forgotten Voices focus on bringing sounds from across the Earth together, with a series of songs, chants, lullabies, folk songs, and more from dozens of different cultures. Combined, these stunning solo vocalists form a comprehensive toolkit for all kinds of vocal colors and stylings, from the most intimate to outlandishly epic.

Studio Vocals: Laurie features the majestic and versatile neoclassical singer, Laurie Ann Haus, and captures a deep-sampled set of articulations from her Celtic, Balkan, Middle Eastern and Operatic styles of singing. The library features True Legato, Sustains, Marcato, and Phrases. Laurie’s multi-vowels were designed to align perfectly with Lacrimosa and Aetheria, allowing you to place a soloist on top of these choirs that matches perfectly.

Studio Vocals: Jenifer features velocity-layered legato for subtle and nuanced expression that sounds expressive and realistic and feels natural and easy to play. Jenifer Thigpen is known for her work with Disney’s “Voices of Liberty” and her extensive touring with “Women of Faith.” In addition, she has worked with a vast selection of artists, including Two Steps from Hell and many others.

Studio Vocals: Roula features the unique voice of Roula Tsernou. The library features authentic Eastern-Balkans-Greek Style Vocals, capturing her essence as an artist with unique new syllables, legatos, phrases, and sustains. The huge variety of legatos can easily be mixed and combined for maximum versatility. The collection of phrases are grouped into minor or major thirds, as Roula uses a lot of modal Eastern scales. Finally, for those looking for a more classic approach, we have recorded more standard sustain articulations as well as more complex sustains with more flair, such as a mordent.

For the diverse singing styles in Studio Vocals, we developed an entirely new method for sampling called Flex™ Legato. This richer, more varied legato technique allows for natural vowel changes on transitions, adding even more life into these libraries.

Forgotten Voices: Barbary features Barbary Grant, who sings and articulates fluently in all three Goidelic languages: Scots Gaelic, Irish, and Manx. The library contains over 1400 vocal phrases, primarily based on public domain songs from folklore. There are also whisper chants, lullabies, basic sustains, and a unique set of custom vocal ambiences designed from Barbary’s voice.

Forgotten Voices: Terrie includes a wealth of phrases from cultures Terrie learned about while traveling, including African, Gospel, Soul, RnB, Latin, Middle Eastern, and more. Terrie Odabi is a classically trained singer who studied under Gwen Brown, Bill Bell, and the late John Patton. The custom vocal ambiences in Terrie work great on their own, or as accompaniment to her phrases.

Forgotten Voices: Cait contains over a thousand different vocal phrases, organized into categories such as Sanskrit chants, Lullabies, and free Improvisational phrases. Cait McWhir, originally hailing from Ireland, draws her inspiration from almost 20 years of exploration with Indian, Balkan, Middle-Eastern, and Celtic vocal styles. Cait also contains a large set of vocal ambiences by Steven Tavaglione.

Forgotten Voices: Francesca is split into 5 main patches: Songs, Arcs, Whispers, and Ambiences. Francesca Genco is a highly gifted female alto singer, who covers a variety of vocal textures from soft to powerful, crying to evocative, and everything in-between. She sings powerful, epic phrases, soft, flute-like lullabies, and dark, evocative sounds, just to name a few.

TRUE HUMAN LEGATO

For the diverse singing styles in the Studio Vocals, we developed an entirely new method for sampling called Flex™ Legato. This richer, more varied legato technique allows for natural vowel changes on transitions, adding even more life into these libraries. Some patches also utilize velocity-layered legato, allowing for a naturally human sound that is intuitive and easy to play.
