Studio Series Soprano Saxophone marks 8Dio’s continual commitment to pushing boundaries to achieve a modern, playable, and fully customizable studio sound. The Soprano Saxophone is one of over 14 instruments within the saxophone family. Compared to many of its lower, larger relatives, the Soprano Sax is not as biting or brassy, but has a sweet, soulful sound.
The Soprano is often featured in a solo context, or in 20th century classical music as part of a chamber orchestra. Gaining further notoriety during the jazz movement and rise in popularity of easy listening and smooth jazz, the Soprano Sax almost become synonymous with the genre and attracted many virtuosic musicians to its sound.
Comprising of over 36 hours of sessions and utilizing only the best in modern recording and isolation technologies, we were able to capture multiple fluent and dynamic performances from one of Great Britain's finest musicians.
The Studio Soprano Saxophone has its own fully capable mixer including the new Distance Control, which seamlessly blends between an upfront, direct and dry signal to a broader and more spacious signal.
We wanted to give you direct access to dozens of advanced articulations and modern playing styles with a full range of tempo-synced articulations (relevant articulations only). The main patch allows you to select the articulations you need and set up a custom patch quickly. Our “Chordal Legatos” (polyphonic legato) allow you to play with as many notes as you like, while still triggering the legato transitions.
