The 8Dio Studio Percussion Series is a monumental, deep-sampled collection of percussion instruments of all kinds: Mallet, Drums, Auxiliary, Toys, Exotic, World Instruments, and more. Every instrument in the Studio Percussion Series includes 3 detailed microphones (close, mid, room), so you can mix the percussion perfectly into any setting. We played every instrument with every technique and playing implement we could think of (multiple mallets, brushes, sticks, bows, hands, tremolo, etc.) to ensure that this is a truly comprehensive collection.
The Studio Percussion Series also features our Groove Sampling™ technology. Groove Sampling allows you to play the instruments in ways you cannot with traditional multi-samples, providing a completely fluent and natural sound. They were recorded at various tempos and velocities and will sync with your host. These sounds are essential for authentic percussion performances.
Studio Orchestral Percussion includes 6 mallet instruments: Marimba, Glockenspiel, Xylophone, Vibraphone, Crotales, and Tubular Bells. We recorded all the instruments with multiple mallets, brushes, and even bows when possible, bringing out every possible timbre these beauties have to offer, along with tempo-synced repetitions, tremolos, and rolls.
Studio Exotic Percussion includes 5 lesser-known, but beautiful instruments: Aluphone, Caisa, Scaffaphone, Sixxen, & Tubaphone. You may not have heard of them, but we can assure you all 5 of these instruments are exceptional, so do yourself a favor and check them out in the walkthrough video below! Like the orchestral mallet instruments, we recorded these with different mallets and bows, so you get even more unique and exotic sounds.
Studio Auxiliary Percussion includes 72 different unpitched instruments, covering a wide range of auxiliary percussion (ex. Congas, Bongos, Cowbells, Shakers, Maracas), ethnic percussion (ex. Frame Drums, Timbales, Darbuka, Udu, Djembe, Doumbek, Cajon), and traditional orchestral instruments (ex. Concert Bass Drum, Timpani, Snare, etc.). Plus, there are full drum kits with a large assortment of snares, bass drums, toms, hi-hats and 11 cymbals as well as ensemble kits, allowing you to play larger assortments of different instruments at the same time.
Studio Suspended Tonal Percussion is a collection of 49 deep-sampled instruments with a twist! As the name suggests, all the instruments were recorded in suspension, which allowed us to turn some unusual objects into percussion instruments, like concrete bricks and gas canisters. There are a lot of unique instruments here, including cups & glasses, tiles, wood planks, clay pots, and some more traditional musical items like drum shells and xylophone keys.
Studio Suspended Non-Tonal Percussion takes the same idea: by letting the instruments hang in free air, they can vibrate fully. The 41 instruments included in this volume include cymbals, hoops, cardboard, buckets, and much more. And of course, if we could get an interesting sound with brushes or mallets, we made sure to record them!
The Studio Percussion Series is designed around playability and ease-of-use. All articulations and playing styles are easily accessible from our built-in browser system and just a single click away. With our dual-layer effects, you have direct access to a trance gate, filters, pitch, delay, compression, and our textural convolution delay. We have also included our new Chaos FX engine, which gives you control over things such as EQ, Phasing, distortion, stereo delay, and an additional convolution reverb.

Each library in the Studio Percussion Series includes a built-in browser, allowing you to find the exact instrument or technique you need with just a few clicks. With over 170 instruments all together, we wanted to simplify the journey from thought to creation, so we made sure all the necessary controls and options were easy to find and easy to use.
ALL TECHNIQUES
We recorded almost every instrument with more than one playing implement, be that multiple mallets, brushes, bows, or various hand techniques. In addition to the tempo-synced Groove Samples, many instruments also feature rolls or tremolo, giving you access to almost any percussion sound.
GROOVE SAMPLING™
The core of the Studio Percussion Series is our new, patent-pending Groove Sampling techniques. The library comes with traditional multi-samples in addition to groove samples, so you can play and mix them side by side. The Groove Samples can be controlled on your modwheel or with our new, powerful Mod Sequencer.
