Every string was bowed to produce rich textures, expanded with a dedicated drone section and experimental effects like glissandos, scrapes, and percussive knocks—perfect for cinematic and evocative sound design.
Vintage Toy Piano is part of the Misfit collection, a series focused on raw, soulful instruments recorded without polish or perfection. This library captures the authentic character of a vintage toy piano with multiple velocity layers and round robins. Misfit’s approach highlights its quirky charm, delivering an expressive, lo-fi sound full of nostalgic personality.

The 1901 Upright Piano is a vintage upright Broadwell with an intimate, gentle sound. With 6 different types of microphones (Neumann 87’s, Coles, Neve SE Ribbon’s, AKG 414’s, Neumann KM 184’s and a mix made by combining all 24 microphones used in the sessions), bespoke sustain, staccatissimo, half pedal, & una corda articulations, and a collection of prepared articulations (plucks, mutes, and other unique playing styles), we left no stone unturned in sampling this piano. You also have the option to play the piano recorded through a true vintage tape deck and with 2 world class reverbs (Bricasti and TCElectronics 6000). The 1901 Upright Piano is as good as it gets, whether you want an authentic vintage sound, or a modern, clean, and intimate experience.
The 1969 Legacy Grand Piano is a Model D, one of the most exquisite and sought-after Pianos in existence. The tone is rich and full, yet light and bright. Its majestic character can blend into anything from classical to pop/rock. The natural age of the piano has allowed the soundboard to settle, open up, and blossom like a great bottle of wine. We sampled the Piano with 6 different stereo microphone perspectives (Overhead, Keyboard/Player, Dampers, Spot, Ambient, and Room), so you can dial in the perfect sound. You can also get creative with a collection of presets that combine the piano with other instruments.
The 1971 Estonia Grand Piano has a uniquely dark, emotional, and melancholic timbre, earning it the moniker “the secret Steinway of Eastern Europe.” We recorded dedicated sustains and staccatos, as well as plucks. We recorded the Piano with 6 vintage microphone signals (Neumann UM57’s, Vintage Lomo’s, Sennheiser MKH40’s, Aston Spirits, Neumann KM 184’s and a mix), up to 20 velocity layers, and a 100% analogue signal flow, leaving you with an expressive, unique, highly detailed piano.
The 1895 Passionate Piano is an ultra-detailed concert grand C5 Piano, with up to 10 velocity layers, a wealth of flexible articulations (including Una Corda and multiple Staccato lengths), 6 microphone positions, and 5 round robins. The sound is truly passionate: warm, wide, expressive, elegant, and full of live, personality, natural resonance, and depth.
The 1990 Studio Grand Piano features the incredibly versatile and studio defacto Yamaha C7. This hyper-realistic library pays homage to the acoustic instrument with over 48000 samples, 6 microphone signals, 2 Pro-Grade Reverbs, Sustains recorded with the pedal up and down, staccatos of various lengths, and the tiny details you hear when sitting in front of a piano (sympathetic resonance, key noise, hammers, pedals noise, etc). All of these unique noises can be controlled, of course. The piano is best described as incredibly versatile and fantastic for pop, rock, classical, fusion and all in-between.
The 1990 Prepared Grand Piano is the most comprehensive collection of deep-sampled Prepared Piano samples on the market. The library contains over 44000 samples and 38 highly unique and playable articulations, playing directly on piano strings with Guitar Picks, E-Bow, Mallets, Forks, Ping Pong Balls, Paper, Bottle Caps, Coke Cans, Blankets, Wires, and more. As with all our pianos, the Prepared Grand features a wide assortment of microphone signals, reverbs, and effects, making these unique piano effects even more versatile.
We purposely chose to record the Vintage Organ in its natural state, using immaculately maintained Leslie cabinets. In fact, we used two independent Leslies (and blew up a third): one to capture the genre defining rotations at all speeds, and another with a modified motor to record the pure unhindered tone of the Leslie itself.
The Electric Grand Piano is like a normal piano, except that the vibration of the strings is converted by electric pickups, similar to an Electric Guitar. The Vintage CP-70 contains standard (Sustains, Staccato, Staccatissimo w/ RR) and a large assortment of prepared articulations (Plucked Strings, Picked Strings, Muted Strings, Harmonics etc.) recorded inside the piano.
The Studio Clavinet sounds even more like a rich and powerful electric guitar, with 2 individual pickups that can be soloed, combined, and inverted. The sustain samples were captured with all available pick up options and at multiple dynamics, allowing you to customize the sound in incredible detail. The Clavinet is ready to bring the funk!
The Suitcase Piano contains both standard (Sustains and Staccato w/ RR) and prepared articulations (Plucked Tines and Muted Tines). We also opened the Suitcase and recorded the insides of it, plucking the tines and gently muting them for different types of sounds.
Welcome to The Plucked Grand Piano: a library dedicated to the deep sampling of plucked and hammer struck grand piano strings. We took a world class piano and recorded every string with a massively over-sized nylon guitar pick. The instrument is best described as a hybrid between a harp, clavinet, guitar, lute, and the unforgettable sound of the harpsichord. In addition, we added a bonus “Hammered” articulation, using a custom miniature hammer. The sound resembles hammered dulcimer.
We wanted to create something definitive and unrivaled, with a range of instruments truly authentic to the originals in every possible way. These instruments will never need to be sampled again.
